With his current solo band, Doyle presents a sonically thick and lyrically evil slab of horror-punk-tinged metal that shows a roaring return of one of extreme metal's original architects to the blood splattered drawing board that he created with The Misfits speed/thrash metal masterpiece,1983's 'Earth AD/ Wolf's Blood'. Along with Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only, Doyle and The Misfits revolutionized American punk rock.

He is obviously a man with nerves of steel, although after touring extensively as lead guitarist with both Marilyn Mason and Rob Zombie and releasing several solo albums, his nerves are likely made our of guitar strings by now.ĭoyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein is the towering ex guitarist for The Misfits. Never having seen the band live, he wasn't sure what to expect or what he'd gotten himself into but he was a perfect fit and became synonymous with their lead guitar sound. Thrown in at the deep end with Marilyn Manson while they were well into superstar territory, John 5's first gig with them was the MTV Video Music Awards of 1998.
